Zul'Drak Daily - Troll Patroll

Zul'Drak has a daily called "Troll Patrol."  It requires you to carry out 4 other dailies in the area.  It's worth 350 rep with Argent Crusade.  If you complete all the dailies in under 30 minutes, you get 350 bonus rep. 

Some of the 4 are random-ish, but one is ALWAYS "The Alchemist's Apprentice."  This quest alone can make or break your time limit.  It requires you to find randomly called-out ingredients on at least 6 different bookcases/shelves or on the floor in 2 different rooms.  The catch is that you have a 30 second time limit for EACH ingredient, and you have to fetch it AND throw it in the cauldron.  Some of the ingredients are found in both rooms, on multiple shelves and some are only found in one room, on 1 or 2 shelves.  You'll have to figure out which is where through trial and error.  This trial and error process can make you want to throw your computer through a window, as it always seems to be the last ingredient he calls out that only exists in one room, on one shelf.  And then you have to start all over again.  All the while, your time limit is cackling at you.

This quest gets easier and easier.  Today, I completed it on my first try.  I think that was a first for me.  And I finished the Troll Patrol with over 10 minutes left on my timer.  But the first time I did Troll Patrol ... I wasn't even close - in fact, I walked away from my computer in anger.

I just did a quick wowhead check and some people get so frustrated with this quest that they make visual aids to help them.  Check it out:

Looked at that image again. That thing is incredibly helpful. Don't worry so much about the items that are on both sides, just memorize which are only on one side.

If you're serious about doing this daily, you could even write a little note for yourself with the rare ingredients and arrows to let you know if they're in the right or left room.  Getting the wrong room will ALWAYS cause you to miss his time limit. (Any hunters may want to use Aspect of the Cheetah on this one.)  Shame I can't see the pic at work, it sounds helpful.

Also, as monk pointed out to me, if you do this quest under the time limit it takes up a total of 6 dailies for only 700 rep.  (4 mini quests, 1 overarching quest, and 1 more for the time limit bonus quest)
So, if you're running up against your limit of 25 dailies/day, you may want to skip this one.

Thankfully, 3.08 brought faster loot times.  I don't know if this was intended, but it helps SOOOO much with this quest.  If you catch on very quickly that you went to the wrong side, you can actually make it to the other side and loot the item in time.

The effort that went into the cheat sheets at wowwiki are another indicator that this daily is "SRS BIZNESS!"

With 3.08, the bonus now rewards 500 rep instead of 350 and 19g instead of 12g.  Does it make up for all the dailies it takes to do this single daily?  No.  Does it at least make it better?  Yes.

It is a terrible waste of dailies considering how little rep you get.  However, as there is only one other daily that grants Argent Crusade rep, you're sort of stuck doing it if you want anything from them.

If you're a non-tailor DK, the up-side is that you'll only need to get to revered.

It will be easier for everyone else, once they hit 80, as we'll be able to run dungeons and champion (wear tabard) for rep.
