I was thinkin' about buying some heirloom shoulders (+10% xp bonus) with my stone keepers shards. As I understand it, though they scale with level, they are still subject to armor type restrictions. (i.e. I can't buy the leather shoulders and give them to my mage alt and have them magically turn into cloth). Can anybody confirm or deny?
If that is the case, I suppose I should just get the cloth ones so that any alt can wear them, even though the stats will be near useless for any melee chars. Sigh. I'd rather put melee stats on my casters than vice versa, but the xp bonus will be worth it for an altoholic such as myself.
On another note, I'm stoked for the new druid forms!
I'm so out of the loop right now. Any news dealing with druid forms is good news, especially since that's still my numero dos character.
As for the heirloom items, I'm not completely positive. However, one of the cloth shoulders isn't so bad:
Exquisite Sunderseer Mantle Binds to account ClothShoulder 210 Armor +51 Stamina Requires Level 1 to 80 Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 34. Equip: Improves your resilience rating by 51. Equip: Increases spell power by 59. Equip: Experience gained from killing monsters increased by 10%.
On the wiki, it states: "Note that items of mail or plate armor class are downgraded one armor type for characters below level 40 (plate items become mail and mail items become leather). I.e. they function as leather/mail for levels 1-39, then as mail/plate for level 40 and above. This only seems to apply to classes who upgrade armor proficiencies at level 40; [Prized Beastmaster's Mantle] given to a Rogue, for instance, still counts as mail. "
I don't know if that's a typo at the end or what, but that's implying a Rogue can wear the mail armor and I'm pretty sure they can't wear mail usually.
Also, I don't know why it always takes me an hour or more to do a friggin talent spec. At least my glyphs were mostly right on the druid. I'm pretty excited to get back in that saddle and lvl him up.
Bought the cloth shoulder last night. So we'll have to wait for somebody else to do the "mail shoulder on a mage" experiment. now trying to figure out the best zones to level the hunter in to get Horde expedition rep so's I can get the mechano-hog. Grizzly hills had some, as I recall. Icecrown, too.
Hunter is 77. I've done BT,HF, and Dragonblight. I've thought of the Argent tournament, but I'm seriously burnt out on it for the time being.
Speaking of huntards, it seems like the grouop quests were much easier to solo on my shaman. Maybe I should go back to beastmastery. maybe shamongoloid is the new huntard.
I bet you're burned out on Argent. I got to exalted with trolls and then backed WAY off. I think I'm still not even done with the 25 whatevers for the Forsaken.
Still, I think I got to exalted with Horde Exped before I finished with the elves. Of course, I had done virtually every quest in NR prior.
Something I don't plan to do with the Druid. In fact, I'll finish up HowlF because the two starting zones have the best dps gear, and then DBlight because it's also a good zone for gear. If I lvl fast enough there, I should be able to skip Grizz and ZD and just head to Sholazar to start the rep grind with the gurlocs. I wouldn't mind skipping two whole zones. Not at all.
i still have to finish icecrown and havent even started anything in the area where sons of hodir are.... and i got bored with the tourey when i got my one and only champion staus.
