Got my compy back, had to reinstall xp.  Now it can't seem to find the internet connection (comcast cable).  Comcast setup says my network adaptor isn't found.  do i need to manually input IP/TCP stuff? Anybody know of a quick fix or good website to check out?
Thanks

I don't think you'll have to manually enter anything. If your network adapter is actually installed, then you might need to see if you can update the driver. If it's not installed, then you'll want to get the driver/installer so that you can install it.

Have you done a microsoft update? sometimes, that catches a lot of stuff for you.

Thanks.  I'll check around for updates, but I'd have to transfer them over on a thumb drive or something, without the internet.

Do you have a wireless adapter as well as an ethernet adapter?

Wireless adapter is on the other computer, atm. That is, if a wireless adapter is the little antenna thing you stick on the back.

Yes. I was just curious.

Surprising that XP didn't have at least some generic ethernet adapter drivers installed.
